At the core of Cooper's MA outcome is a speculative retail system presented in the form of an app. This speculative tool combines innovative problem solving with empathetic design thinking, learning from real user needs. It is a B2B retail system enabling fashion brands to cater to individuals of all abilities, neurodiversities, genders, ages and shapes by offering bespoke versions of their ready-to-wear lines. This is a plug-in that allows users to scan their body, customise and order bespoke garments, have remote fittings and receive live production updates. Unique tools such as a live cost and time calculator and live production updates give insight into timelines and people involved, ensuring transparency and building meaningful connections between fashion brands and their customers. Inclusive body scanning AI and AI-generated recommendations create tailored solutions to each customer. The systemically inclusive tool addresses fast fashion, mass production, the male gaze, lack of inclusivity and trust in fashion brands.
The final garments are made from bespoke textiles, developed in collaboration with textiles designer and fellow RCA alumna, Charlotte Karin.
